The Wallace Collection
A few minutes walk from The BoTree you’ll find one of the best collections of art in the capital... and a courtyard café that’s a masterpiece in itself.
If you ever find yourself in Marylebone with a couple of hours on your hands, The Wallace Collection is one of London’s lesser-known treasures. Thousands flock to the National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Academy, and both Tates for good reason. The Wallace Collection is where Branches will often head for an art fix though. Well actually, Branches often doesn’t make it past coffee in the Courtyard but we’ll come back to that later.
The Wallace Collection is located just around the corner in Hertford House, Manchester Square. The former house of the Seymour family, Marquesses of Hertford. The collection bears the name of Sir Richard Wallace, who, along with the Marquesses of Hertford built up this impressive collection during the 18th and 19th centuries.
